This six-hour class meets the SESSION 10 Continuing Education requirement for PLUMBERS to maintain plumber and gas fitter licensure as mandated by the Board of Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters in Massachusetts. The class will provide the 3-hour portion required for licensed Gas Fitters and an additional 3-hours required for all licensed Plumbers.

Plan to arrive at the seminar at least 15 minutes prior to start time to sign-in.

Objectives

  • Discuss administrative updates and topics identified by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters.
  • Clarify code requirements regarding beauty shop installations, specifics of bar fixture plumbing, and plumbing in hotels/motels.
  • Review code intent for cleanouts, water pressure boosters, and product accepted materials.
  • Analyze plumbing fixture requirements related to occupancy and building use referenced in 248 CMR 10.10.
  • Discuss administrative updates and topics identified by the Board of State Examiners of Plumbers and Gas Fitters.
  • Clarify procedures regarding the appeal process of an inspectors decision.
  • Review gas code changes, and MA code sections related to pool heaters, CSST, gas pipe protection, decorative appliances.
  • Overview of “Hot Works” Certification requirements and specialty trade training in Massachusetts.
